After graduating from the Bocconi University in Milan with a degree in Economics and Business, Paolo focused on ocean sports sailing. Some of the most important regattas in which he participated are the first solo Route du Rhum in 1978, the Twostar in 1981 - that he won in pair with Enrico Sala - and two editions of the Whitbread Round the World Race 1977/78 and 1981/82. In 1984 he founded ISM Associates, a sports marketing agency specialized in media relations, PR, event production and editorial projects. He was the Luna Rossa Challenge communications manager for the team’s first three challenges to the America's Cup. He now rejoins Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli in 2024, handling public relations and institutional affairs.
