With a CONI Gold Collar award for Sporting Merit, Giulia is the Italian sailor with most participations in the Olympic Games, right behind Alessandra Sensini. Following her debut in the Athens 2004 games in the Yngling Class, she competed in the Beijing and London editions in 470 (paired with Giovanna Micol) and then switched to the 49er FX in Rio 2016 (with Francesca Clapcich). She finished the last three Olympics in 5th place. In the 470 Giulia has also collected important results at Worlds (silver in 2008 and bronze in 2010) and European Championships (gold in 2009 plus two silvers in 2007 and 2010 respectively). In the 49er FX she participated in Worlds (1st in Buenos Aires in 2015 and 3rd in Santander in 2014) and European Championships (1st in Porto in 2015 and 2nd in Barcelona in 2016). After closing her Olympic journey, she embarked in a coaching career in the US where she won (as first non-American coach) the National Coach of the Year award in 2020. In 2024 she joins the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team in view of the Puig Women's America's Cup in Barcelona.
