Born in Verona in 1992, Umberto holds a degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Southampton. He started sailing at the age of 6 and has since then he raced both in Olympic Classes, such as Laser and Finn, and on keelboats such as Melges 32, J70 and Maxi. After working for an engineering consultancy in the UK, he was project manager for the development and construction of the Persico 69F boat and class. Within Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli he is Project Manager for special projects and liaison between the Design Team and the Shore Team. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, running, downhill skiing and wing foiling. The 2024 campaign will be his first America's Cup.
