Before becoming an America's Cup sailor, Davide was a professional swimmer – a sport he had practiced since the age of 4. After his initial experiences in the pool, he embarked on a career in open-water swimming, dedicating himself to long distances: 5km, 10km, 20km, and beyond. He was a regional champion over several distances and won the 2014 National Grand Prix "Granfondo Cadetti." In 2015, he took part in the Fina World Grand Prix in Cozumel, Mexico. A lover of the sea in all aspects, in 2018, he approached the world of sailing thanks to the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team. With this team, he participated as a grinder in his first America's Cup in 2021. For the 2024 edition, he works in the electronics department, adapting the Human Interface components for on-board communications and safety at sea. The 2024 edition will mark his second America's Cup. In his spare time, he prepares for and competes in triathlon races and enjoys surfing.
