Born in Slovakia, Roman began repairing canoes and racing kayaks as a child, following dedicated circuits. Upon relocating to Germany, he was hired by Speedwave GmbH, a company specializing in composite machining in the marine, automotive, aerospace, etc. industries. He then moved to Malaysia for 7 years, working with in the field of boat building. After returning to Europe, he traveled between Holland, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain, focusing on building race boats. In addition to working for various shipyards, such as Nautor's Swan (125' Skorpios) he collaborated with teams involved in the Volvo Ocean Race (ABN Ambro, Ericsson) and the America's Cup, following Victory Challenge, Alinghi (catamaran) and Land Rover Bar (wing and daggerboard). In 2010 he joined Persico Marine to follow the birth of Vor 70 Abu Dhabi. During his years in Nembro he participated in the construction of the AC72 and the first two Luna Rossa AC75s. In 2022 he joined the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team as a construction consultant.
