THE PREVENTION TOUR REACHES NAPLES
Dermatological screening programme for Luna Rossa confirmed for 2026/2027
The prevention programme promoted by Prada Group, in collaboration with LILT – Italian League Against Cancer, Arezzo Chapter, and with the support of medical specialists from IDI-IRCCS – Istituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata in Rome, will continue throughout 2027. The initiative aims to promote health and a culture of prevention through dermatological screenings dedicated to Luna Rossa team members and their families.
During the preliminary regattas in September, Max Sirena, CEO of Luna Rossa, met with representatives from LILT Arezzo and IDI-IRCCS at the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia in Naples, the team's official yacht club, together with its President, Roberto Mottola di Amato. The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the partnership ahead of the 2027 America's Cup and explore new ways to spread the message of prevention, reaching an increasingly wider audience.
«We strongly believed in this project from the outset», said Sabina Rossi, President of LILT Arezzo. «Our goal is to support the Luna Rossa crew and their families throughout 2027 with a skin health prevention programme. Promoting preventive healthcare, particularly in sport, is at the heart of LILT's mission».
Dr Marcello Giannico and Dr Giovanni Di Lella, respectively General Director of IDI-IRCCS and Head of the Surgical Dermatology Unit, added that they were «honoured to make the hospital's longstanding tradition and dermatological expertise, which have established it as a leading institution in the field, available to the athletes».
Finally, Andrea Barbieri, the newly appointed LILT Regional Coordinator for Tuscany, emphasised the importance of fostering a culture of prevention and raising awareness, particularly among younger generations.
