LUNA ROSSA TEAM AND MARIA GIUBILEI AMONG THE FINALISTS FOR THE 2026 WORLD SAILING AWARDS
Two nominations for the team at sailing’s prestigious international awards. Voting is open until November 2
Luna Rossa Team has been named a finalist for the 2026 Team of the Year Award, while Maria Giubilei is shortlisted for the female Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award. The finalists were announced yesterday by World Sailing, the sport’s international governing body, as part of the awards celebrating the season’s outstanding sailors and achievements.
«This double nomination is a source of pride for Luna Rossa and recognizes the work we have done this year», said Max Sirena, CEO of Luna Rossa. «Our Senior crew’s victories at the Preliminary Regattas in Cagliari and Naples, together with the strong results achieved by our Youth and Women’s teams, demonstrate the maturity of the team as a whole. Maria’s nomination recognizes her talent and dedication and reaffirms the value of a commitment we have long believed in: investing in the next generation of Italian sailors and providing both female and male athletes with the best possible conditions to develop and compete at the highest level».
The public can help choose the winners: the public vote will account for 50% of the final result, with the remaining 50% determined by World Sailing’s expert judging panel.
