Alessandro Franceschetti

Alessandro graduated with an MSc-Eng in Materials Engineering in 2008 from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy). Specialised in the field of advanced composite materials, he acquired experience in advanced CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) structural design, research and development of composite materials and manufacturing technologies. He started his career in 2007 as aerospace research engineer at the CRC-ACS in Melbourne (Australia). Career highlights include, among others, his involvement in the design of the Volvo70 Groupama Team, Puma Racing and Team Telefonica for the 2011/2012 Volvo Ocean Race.

He has participated in three editions of the America’s Cup and won the 2017 edition with ETNZ. This is his second with Luna Rossa.
