Davide Tagliapietra

Born in Venice in 1973, Davide has a degree in Aerospace Engineering and is specialized in structures. He has been involved in racing yacht design for the last 15 years, first collaborating with Studio Frers and later co-founding the design office Schickler Tagliapietra Yacht Engineering. He has been involved as designer in four America's Cup campaigns, one Volvo Ocean Race in addition to collaborating in several highly innovative projects in the fields of advanced composites and systems. He teaches Structure Design at the Master in Yacht Design of IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) and has always been a strong advocate of applying the principles of aeronautics to racing yachts.
