Douglas Schickler

Born in Rochester NY in 1970, Doug has degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute ’92 and University of Michigan ‘93. Sailing yachts became the focus in 1998 when he began working for Tripp Yacht Design.  Specializing in structures and systems engineering, he eventually started his own studio in the Netherlands.  In 2007 Doug partnered with Davide Tagliapietra in founding the design office Schickler Tagliapietra Yacht Engineering, a consultant dedicated to performance craft. This is his second America’s Cup campaign
